Does it work with every restaurant?
Pretty much, yes. We work with virtually every restaurant, and we are building direct contracts to make it even more seamless and totally free to users.
Do I have to sign in every time?
No. You sign up once through the connector and that is it. After that you just ask ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or whatever AI you use to place an order and it does it. You will never even notice Layout is there.
Is my payment safe?
Yes. Your card is tokenized once and every order runs through a scoped one-time virtual card. Merchants never see your real card details.
Does it cost merchants anything?
No. Layout brings AI orders straight into a merchant's existing system at no cost and takes no cut.
Is Layout live yet?
We are early. Ordering is moving to AI agents and we are building the layer that makes it work across every restaurant.
Payments and security
How is my card stored?
You enter it once. We tokenize it through Basis Theory, the same infrastructure used by regulated fintech platforms, and never store your raw card data.
Does the restaurant see my card?
No. Every order runs through a one-time virtual card locked to that merchant and that amount. Your real card never touches them.
What happens if an order is wrong or cancelled?
Because each order uses a scoped one-time card, refunds and adjustments are handled cleanly through the merchant's normal process, just like any other order.
Is Layout PCI compliant?
All card data sits in Basis Theory's PCI-compliant vault. Our own compliance scope is limited by design because we never hold the sensitive data ourselves.
Can my AI assistant spend without my okay?
No. Your assistant builds the order and asks you to confirm before anything is placed. Nothing is charged until you approve it.
